What data we collect

When you use the Echo extension, the following information is read from the page you are viewing and submitted to Echo:

• The article title
• A short excerpt of the article text
• The canonical URL (if available)

This data is used solely to identify the article and find or create its discussion thread on Echo.

What we do not collect

• We do not track your browsing history.
• We do not collect personal information unless you voluntarily submit a comment.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
• We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking.

Local storage

The extension temporarily stores the article title and content in your browser's local extension storage. This data is only held long enough to submit it to Echo when you activate the extension and is not persisted beyond that action.

Comments

If you post a comment on Echo, that comment is stored on our server and displayed publicly. Do not include personal information in comments you do not wish to be public.

Third-party services

Echo does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.
